Our Story
We've always enjoyed doing escape rooms together. We love working together to solve puzzles, the mix of logic and thinking outside of the box, and most of all, the "a ha!" feeling of accomplishment when you've finally cracked that difficult puzzle.
We started sharing this with some friends of ours - which mostly involved us taking all of their kids with us to do an escape room together. With kids ranging from age 7 and up at the time, we found that well-designed escape rooms had something to offer for everyone. The younger kids as much as the adults could all be involved and feel that they were contributing. The sibling rivalry was gone, and the family was able to work together and equally share the successes and challenges (and even failures) of the game. This was something truly unique and special. We continued taking these kids with us to escape rooms a few times a year and have enjoyed watching the level of independence in solving the puzzles increase, while never losing that special ability to work together so united.
In 2019 we were spending Passover with these same families and decided to surprise them with something different. We spent the time leading up to the holiday creating a custom-made Passover-themed escape game. It was made up of cardboard boxes, real locks and plenty of store-bought props and hand-created puzzles. The kids loved it. After a few other families around town played it as well, we realized that we had created something truly unique and appreciated by the Jewish community.
Later that year we created a much higher quality Chanukah-themed escape game. This time using wooden boxes, better quality locks and more complex puzzles to create a hands-on at-home escape game experience. We traveled from house to house as families booked us to come and facilitate our game. Nothing could beat the joy and pleasure of watching the families work through our puzzles together and the sheer enjoyment they had playing our game.
In 2020 we remodeled our game into a fully paper version. At the height of COVID, with families stuck at home together, our take-home Chanukah-themed escape game was just the right fit.
With continued interest in our games, we decided it was time to broaden our scope and allow more families to experience our games at home. Our initial launch is a new and improved version of our popular Chanukah-themed game, The Eighth Night, currently available as a Boxed Game and Print & Play.
With more games coming soon, we can't wait to continue our journey together with you!
